The Real World: Bilingual Children
Before and After Reading

Before Reading
The title is really interesting because I am bilingual. I was raised to speak in Spanish at home but in school I had to speak English. At first, it was really hard for me to understand English. I believe that parents should teach their child two or more languages.

  1. I'm also bilingual and found it a little hard to understand English because i was thought Spanish first. What made it worst is that i was in a bilingual class were the teacher spoke both Spanish and English which sometimes made things more confusing thatn what it should have been. I wouldn't mind learning a few more languages I think it's cool to learn more than one language. I wish that I can speak my parents native language that would be awsome.

  2. I agree with you as well, being raised up with a spanish family, I was taught spanish first and then when i first started school that was when the English language was introduce to me. It was quite hard to learn the language like you but I manage it. I believe it is very important for parents to teach their children atleast two languages instead of just one.

  6. Hey Kimberly
I do agree that parents should teach their children more languages. I had the same struggle in learning english. One thing that spabish parents have is that they only like to teach their kids their language. Yet they should be expoused to other ones as well, to make their lives easier.
